Uta Goretzky, spokesperson for the FAMAB Association for Direct Business Communications, also sees sustainability as an important current issue.

Seizing on this trend, the Munich-based trade-show builder Atelier Damböck has established the Greenstands initiative. Participating companies no longer use environmentally damaging materials in their booths; they also use the booth elements for as long as possible, or recycle them. Any CO2 emissions that arise despite these measures are compensated for. This allows trade show exhibits to be climate neutral. The initiative acquires pollution rights for this purpose and invests in environmental projects worldwide.

Environmental protection, now a common constituent of corporate philosophy, is also gaining importance as a competitive factor. FAMAB therefore believes that in the future many companies will keep the environment firmly in mind when planning their booths.
